Training for Volunteers is held as the need arises.
Volunteers work for two hours once a week with an adult student who needs to improve their reading, writing and spelling. This takes place in one of our centres, either morning or afternoon, or in the CDETB Adult Education Services Centre as part of the evening adult education programme from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Mondays or Tuesdays.
If you are interested in becoming a literacy tutor with this scheme please leave your name and contact details either on our phone message service or email.
Day time tutors are especially needed.
As the training course is being updated with the latest International statistics and research, our next training course will not take place until Spring 2014 at the earliest. PIAAC International report on literacy and numeracy was published by the CSO in October 2013.
We currently have a full panel of volunteers.
